Art for Education Campaign with Mano Amiga Academy
Mano Amiga is a multi-awarded NGO that focuses on quality education for all, sustainable livelihood for women, and advocacy campaigns for social change. I am very honored to be an Education Advocate and Ambassador for them together with other women who believe in their vision and efforts -- Cat Juan Ledesma and Deisa Abiog. (The others will still be announced later on, so I will not spoil the surprise). ;)
I have known about Mano Amiga when I was a teacher in Everest Academy, and since then I have been amazed by their vision and have supported in my simple and personal ways -- as a teacher and as an entrepreneur/restaurateur -- together with my teaching partner (Rinna Puno-Levett), all our 4th grade students (SY 2009-2013), and my business partners (Tita Grace Valerio and Margaux Lucena). Currently, I am creating abstract artwork pieces to support them, and I have called this my passion project #artforeducationph. A portion of earnings from commissioned artworks and ready-to-purchase artworks will be pooled together to support Mano Amiga. I'm also looking for other like-minded artists who would like to have an exhibit in 2019 for the benefit of the school.
